INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP ON MARINE INSURANCE AND AVERAGE

This workshop will look at a hypothetical collision between a container vessel and a tanker off the China coast. Various aspects will be examined, including liability, salvage, pollution, limitation, jurisdiction, cargo claims and general average. The scope of shipowners’ needs and the interplay between hull and P&I underwriters will be discussed.

 

EVENT OBJECTIVE

To bring in a panel of key maritime professionals including property and liability insurers, insurance broker, solicitors and average adjuster, to provide practical advice on disaster management in the event of a major casualty and to examine in conjunction with delegates various issues arising.

Maritime Law Seminar

This is the first seminar of the Hong Kong Maritime Industry Week. We have the awards winning renowned maritime lawyer, also a popular conference speaker, Ms Rosita Lau, Partner, Ince and Co, speaking on the latest development of maritime law and controversial court cases that affect players of the maritime industry and will discuss how the industry is to deal with the issues that arise from these cases.

SPEAKER:

Rosita Lau is a partner of the leading English international commercial law firm Ince & Co.

She is qualified to practise in 4 jurisdictions: England & Wales, Hong Kong, Australia ACT and Singapore.

She specialises in dry shipping and logistics law, insurance law, commercial law, international trade law. She also practises aviation law. She advises and acts for leading shipowners, shipmanagers, charterers, P & I Clubs, logistics operators, terminal operators, insurers, insurance brokers, commodities traders and airport management authority.
